Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) improves the health of British Columbians by seeking province-wide solutions to specialized health care needs in collaboration with BC health authorities and other partners.
The committee also serves as the Pediatric Subcommittee to the BC Health Authorities Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. The PTN Committee develops and recommends policies and procedures for the distribution, evaluation, selection, and utilization of pharmaceuticals at the hospital. It also provides recommendations for the safe, rational, and economic use of nutritional products. Membership is multidisciplinary, with representation from Laboratory, Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition, and Pharmacy.
The PTN Manual, the Parenteral Drug Manual, and the BCCH Pediatric Drug Dosage Guidelines are publications that are approved by the Committee.
